Vintage Diamond Tile

I found a small, dusty pile of these old French tiles on the floor of an antique shop here in California. People stepped over them all day long. The man at the shop said they were likely from Paris, possibly circa 1920s - but I can't promise you either. I brought ten of them home, and after a gentle wash, the cornflower diamond motif brightened right up - the perfect shade of blue. Each tile is old, and chipped, and etched in all the right ways. No two are exactly alike. Please look closely at the photos, I imagine they were pulled out of an old floor or back splash, and therefore have a bit of cement residue clinging about. That said, they do sit quite flat. Flat enough that I've been using a pair of them as a trivet. - Heidi
