Pallarès-Solsona Aragon Knife

The Aragon knife features a slender, softly pointed carbon blade and a handle of dusky, almost rosy beech wood. This is the ideal knife to reach for when you need a bit more artillery than a small kitchen knife provides, but your chef’s knife feels like overkill—maybe when preparing a summer squash or petite melon. The knife's full-tang blade makes it sturdy enough for a bit of strenuous work. Its rustic beauty means it is also a lovely table knife.
Like our other offerings from Pallarès, this piece comes from the atelier of third-generation knife smiths in the small town of Solsona, Spain, not far from Barcelona. Each knife is entirely hand-fashioned and hand-stamped. It is an heirloom piece if cared for properly.
Care: Carbon steel is harder than stainless steel and will hold its edge longer before needing to be sharpened. That said, it requires a bit of care and attention. Always remember to keep your knife dry, as carbon steel will rust when it remains wet. It is also natural for carbon steel to develop a lovely patina over time. Run a towel over the knife between uses and store it in a dry place, where it won’t knock against other objects.
